The law businesses break
by accident, at full price.
Thai labour law is one of the most expensive areas to get wrong. Severance, damages, and in some cases criminal liability and usually not from bad intent, but from a missed step. We keep you on the right side of it, from hiring to firing.
Contested terminations and disputes are a lawyer's paid work, scoped before they start.
The problem
One missed step at termination
can cost more than the salary ever did.
Labour law is where businesses lose money they never budgeted for. Terminate the wrong way and you can be liable for severance plus damages, amounts that hurt a healthy company and can sink a struggling one. Some violations of the Labour Protection Act even carry criminal penalties.
And here's what surprises most employers: the law cares about process, not just fairness. A dismissal that feels completely justified can still lose in the Labour Court because a step was skipped, a document was missing, or a warning letter is missing a key component. By the time the dispute starts, the file is either your defence or your liability.
The free guide
The Hiring-to-Firing Guides
The steps Thai employers most often miss: contracts, work rules, discipline, and the termination sequence, in one page you can hold your own process against.
On its way. If there's a termination or dispute already in motion, reply to the email. Timing matters in these.
The guide is general information, not legal advice. Contested matters are a lawyer's paid work.
What's covered
Hire, manage and exit your team

The guide shows the gaps. Here's what we do when you want them closed.
Employment law advisory
How to minimize labour-law risk across the whole employment lifecycle: hiring, probation, discipline, restructuring, and exits, with the trade-offs explained before you decide, not after.
Employment documents
Employment contracts, work rules, warning letters, termination notices and settlement agreements, drafted for Thai law, in Thai and English, so the paper protects you when it's tested.
Termination done right
The sequence, the grounds, the evidence, the documents, the payment calculation. Get these right and most disputes never start; get them wrong and you've built the employee's case for them.
Labour dispute representation
Labour inspection issues, negotiations, and representation in the Labour Court when a dispute can't be settled.
Who's behind it
A Thai-licensed lawyer
who runs the labour matters himself.
CorpJurist is run by a Thai-licensed lawyer with 14 years of practice, including Thai labour work. The guide and the document tools make the routine fast and efficient. Contested terminations and disputes are handled by the lawyer, because that is where judgment earns its keep.

FAQ
Common questions
How much severance could I owe?
The Labour Protection Act sets statutory severance rates that increase with the employee's years of service, and unlawful-termination damages can come on top. The exact exposure depends on tenure, wage, and how the termination was handled, which is exactly why the process matters.
Can I dismiss without paying severance?
Only on specific statutory grounds, and you'll need evidence and, in most cases, prior written warnings that hold up. Assume severance is payable unless a lawyer has looked at the facts and told you otherwise.
Do I really need written work rules?
Once your headcount reaches the statutory threshold, written work regulations are a legal requirement. Even below it, they're your first line of defence in any discipline or dismissal.
An employee just filed a complaint. What now?
Don't respond on instinct: what you say and write from this point is evidence. Get the facts together and talk to a lawyer before you reply.
Worried about a hire, a warning, or a termination?
Tell us your situation. We'll tell you, plainly, where you're exposed and what to fix first.
